Romantic movies for Valentine's Day

Today is the day! Favourite day of the year for all those lovebirds out there.
So here is my list of classic romantic movies if you're spending your big night in.

1. Grease (1978)

Fun musical that makes you want to get up and dance.I mean, some of the most legendary movie songs are from this movie: Summer Nights, Beauty School, Dropout, Greased Lightining.
Starring John Travolta as a "jack - the - lad" "T" bird Danny Zucko who is a 3D character (loving, self obsessed, a saviour and a winner) and Olivia Newton - John as nerdy Australian girl Sandy Olsen who is more 2D character but also likeable. The story begins when these two seniors fell in love over the summer, but when they come back to school, have to face some big problems.
At the end of the movie, we see that love is all about making sacrifices for the other person, because that's just what love is.

2. 500 Days of Summer (2009)

An omniscient narrator sets the film up early on by noting "this is not a love story". And in a way, it isn't. It's a story about feelings.
The movie talks about love from the male point of view and gives as aspects of new love to the tragedy of heartbreak. Starring brilliant Joseph Gordon - Levitt as Tom Hansen, a guy who wants a woman (Zooey Deschanel as Summer) to love him when she doesn't believe in love.
Different, yet very realistic. It had an understated beauty that you grew to appreciate once you let go of the perfect ending you wanted so badly.

3. Pretty Woman (1990)

Richard Gere as Edward Lewis, the ruthless, calculating millionaire businessman, quite unmindful of the interests of any people involved, hires a prostitute, beautiful Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts), just to fall in love with her.
With so many memorable lines, it tells a story that is very predictable and cinderella like. However, beautifully told.
I suppose there's no person on this world that haven't seen this one. But, there's no such thing as too much of "Pretty Woman", right? Because, when you fall in love with the movie, you will go back to it again and again.

4. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

Adapted from William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew"comes another timeless classic. Starring Heath Ledger as charming Patrick Verona and Julia Stiles as sarcastic feminist high schooler Katarina Statford, the movie takes us through what most teens go through in their world: from wanting to be different, popular to having an over protective parent, dealing with sex and rejection; it just works on so many levels.
It will make you cry (like that part when Kat reads her poem), it will make you smile (for example, the scene where Patrick sings to Kat on the bleachers and gets chased around by security).
In the end, it will teach you that you shouldn't judge people before you know them.

5. Roman Holiday (1953)

Enchanting, radiant, beautiful, refined Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) who needs love and wants happiness escapes her programmed royal existence for a day, to be rescued by a reporter, an ideal foil Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck).
The movie makes you fall in love in Rome and all it's splendour, as much with the lovers who are truly ennobled by their personal sacrifices and the effect that is profound and deeply moving.

6. Doctor Zhivago (1965)

Movie based on the book by Boris Pasternak who was banned in his home land after publishing his novel. After winning the Nobel Prize for Literature, Pasternak died shortly thereafter. It's a pity he did not live to see this film. We could garantee he would have approved it.
Omar Sharif as Yuri Zhivago, a physician but also a poet. His gentleness and idealism stand in sharp contrast to the horrific violence of war and revolution; but the main conflict is in his own heart, as he is torn between fidelity for his sweet and gentle wife, Tonya and passion for Lara (Julie Christie), a nurse at the wartime army hospital where both spend time taking care for wounded soldiers.
A slow film and for good reason. We can breathe the story, give it momentum, judge it from within, as if the choices were not Yuri's, Tonya's or Lara's, but our own creation which is the brilliance of Lean's direction.

The story transcends time and space and at the end we are left with nothing but love, pure, blindingly real love.

7. Dirty Dancing (1987)

Absolute magic in the movie and beautiful chemistry between Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), although Partick and Jennifer hated each other throughout the making of this film.
A story of a daughter who grows to be a woman through dance and love.
It really does take your breath away as the whole choreography of the last dance was done brilliantly and that pull up became iconic, didn't it.

I can't count how many times I've seen it. It's one of those movies you can watch every few weeks and still love it.

8. Some Like It Hot (1959)

A combination of comedy, action, romance, with great old - time gangster scenes played. And there's nothing better than Marilyn Monroe as Sugar Kane singing "I Wanna Be Loved by You", showing she's more than a ditsy blonde bombshell persona, eventhough she never looked hotter!
Some people still say this is the greatest comedy ever made in Hollywood. Who am I to argue? Even after 59 years it is still very funny and not the least bit dated.

10 facts you should know about Gianni Versace

Season 2 of the AMC tells us a story behind the assassination of Gianni Versace, but who really was this fashion genious?
Here are 10 facts about Versace that you should check out, before watching this breath - taking show.

1. Although he loved clothes, art and music, he studied architectural drafting.

Iako je voleo odecu, umetnost i muziku, studirao je tehnicko crtanje.

2.  He came from designer family; his mother was a dressmaker in Reggio Calabria in Italy where he grew up.

3. In 1978, he moved to Milan, established Versace brand and brought his sister Donatella to help him with designs (after his death, she became a creative director) and his brother Santo, who helped him with financials (later he became CEO of the brand).

1978 seli se u Milano gde osniva Vesace brend i dovodi svoju sestru Donatelu koja mu pomaze oko dizajna (nakon njegove smrti postaje kreativni direktor) i svog brata Santa, koju mu pomaze oko finansija (kasnije preuzima mesto CEO kompanije).

4. He was one of the first desingers to invite celebrities in the front rows instead of rich socialites.

5. He designed "that" dress Elizabeth Hurley wore in 1994 for a red carpet premiere of "Four Weddings and a Funeral".
The story behind it, is that Gianni was Hugh Grant's friend so he borrowed the dress as a favor. Little he know it will become one of his most famous designs thanks to the giant gold paperclips that seem to hold the dress together.

6. He designed outfits for Elthon John's "The One" tour.

Dizajnirao je kostime za "The One" turneju Eltona John - a.

7. He beaten a rare form of inner - ear cancer six months before his death.

8. 50 percent of the company he left to his niece Allegra who was 11 at the time of his death.

9. His last show was 9 days before the murder, in Paris, where he represented haute - couture fall/winter collection at the Ritz. Models were dressed in body clinging chain mail and silk jersey gowns.
During the show, there was an argument between Gianni and Donatella about models where the sister wanted Karen Elson to wear the collection's climactic piece: the wedding dress, while the brother thought Karen was too pale for that and wanted Naomi Campbell instead.

10. Gianni Versace and Andrew Cunanan knew each other;
Even though Andrew was a pathological liar, they did meet in the V.I.P. room of the nightclub Colossus according to multiple withnesses. Other stories are only Andrew's vivid imagination.

      Djani Versaci i Endru Kunanan su se poznavali;

Margot Robbie and her first Oscar nomination

The nominees for the 90th Academy Awards were announced this Tuesday by Girls Trip's Tiffany Haddish and War for the Planet of Apes's Andy Serkis. Among the list, there was Australian fashion beauty Margot Robbie with her first Oscar nomination and we couldn't be more proud.

If we think about it, with her 27 years, this girl already has the ABC drama series Pan Am and leading roles in the romantic drama Focus, the action - adventure film The Legend of Tarzan and the superhero film Suicide Squad behind her, and co-starred with Leondardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's biographical black comedy The Wolf of Wall Street.

The latest project, I Tonya is definitely her precious one. Not only that it earned her the Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in Motion Picture in Musical/Comedy and SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Leading Role, but also the most prestigious one, Academy Award.

The movie is about Tonya Harding, the first American woman to perform a triple axel in competition, but is remembered as intense competitor who didn't come forward when she learned her husband and his friend had physically assaulted her competitor, Nancy Kerrigan back in 1994. The film makes a point to establish these characters with honest, believable personalities and you find yourself growing attached to them despite their glaring flaws as human beings.

Filled with intense and very realistic domestic violence, Steve Rogers, the screenwriter, doesn't justify Tonya. She doesn't feel sorry for herself; it's just her life and it's presented as factual rather than soap operatic. This is real life. It's horrifying, it's funny, it's absurd. And the mean character basically says at the end of the film, " S--t happends. Deal with it."

So, let's all say thank you to this amazing cast, especially to Robbie, for making this story so good and comfortable to watch.

And as for me, as a thank you, here are some of my favourite looks of Margo through years. (And go see this movie, won't regret it!)

P. S. Do you have any favourites in the Oscar race? :)

You should instantly follow Cole Sprouse on Instagram

Scrolling through instagram, I ran into Cole Sprouse's account and thank God for that. Since I've been obsessing over Riverdale, the same thing happend over Cole's profile .
This guy is so amazing. Full time actor, part time photographer, he often shares his work on instagram, where more than 10 milion fans can interact with his work.
But, for those who haven't seen the show, let me introduce you to him.
Named in honor of jazz singer and pianist Nat King Cole, he first catapulted into the spotlight as a child actor opposite his twin brother, Dylan. The two started on the hit Disney channel series "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody". Later on, he made his first, solo appearence as Ben, Ross Geller's son in "Friends".
Now, you can watch him in "Riverdale" where he plays super mysterious, macho man Jughead Jones, an iconic part of Archie Comics that are reimagined by The CW with Archie Horror creator Roberto Aguirre - Sacasa.

He also joined the Chuck Taylor crew for a new "Forever Chuck" campaign, along side singer Sabrina Carpenter and model Taylor Hill.

While Sprouse's instagram story doesn't give away The Black Hood's identity, it shows us the other side of this young actor. You can scroll through this account for hours without being affraid that you'll get bored. There are photos of Kendall Jenner for The Sunday Times Style, Sam Smith for his L' Uomo Vogue cover , Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner for W Magazine.

In the interview for Teen Vogue he said:
" Maybe it was escapism, but I had become obsessed with going to remote locations and keeping myself behind the camera", noting that he thinks "that came from a personal place where I was very dissatisfied with the way my society was treating me."

Whatever the reason was, we could just thank for that. So here are some of my favourite pictures from Cole's instagram and for more, you can follow him here.
You're welcome!

Lana Turner, sex symbol & style icon of the '60s

Lana Turner was a pin - up model who become a serious dramatic actress, named the most "glamorous woman in the history of international art" in 1951.
She started as a lead character in "Johnny Eager", "Honky Tonk", "Somewhere I'll find You". Later on, she appeared in a horror movie from 1941 "Dr Jekyll And Mr. Hyde", besides Ingrid Bergman and Spanser Tracy.
In 1957 she did "Peyton Place" for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

A reputation as a glamorous femme fatale was enchanced by her performance in the 1946's film noir "The Postman Always Rings Twice", based on James M. Cain's debut novel of the same name. A critic of The New York Times wrote it was "the role of her career."

But Lana's reaction to her sex symbol 'nickname' was quite different. She once said:
"All those years that my image on the screen as "sex goddess" - well makes me laugh. Sex was never important to me. I'm sorry if that disappoints you, but it's true. Romance, yes. Romance was very important. But I never liked being rushed into bed, and I never allowed it. I'd put it off as long as I could and I gave in only when I was in love, or thought I was. It was always the courtship, the cuddling, and the closeness that I cared about, never the act of sex itself - with some exceptions of course. I'm not masquerading as a prude, but I've always been portrayed as a sexy woman, and that's wrong. Sensuous, yes. When I'm involved with someone I care for deeply, I can feel sensual. But that's a private matter."

Apart from her many films, her stormy personal life (7 husbands, 8 marriages - she later on joked about how: "My goal was to have one husband and seven children, but it turned out to be the other way around"), ensured always into the public eye.
Besides that, a tragedy marked her late 1950s.
On April 4, 1958, Turner's 14 year old daughter Cheryl Crane stabbed to death a small - time gangster Johnny Stompanato, Lana's current lover, after overhearing him make threats towards her mother. The Court later on ruled it as justifiable homicide.

This didn't ruin Turner's career; on the following year she made one of better movies, "Imitation of life", and continued working in films and television for over 20 years.
But for now, I should let the picture speak louder than words and to see what I'm talking about, check out the images below.

"Casablanca" 75 years later

My favourite movie of all the time for sure, with iconic stars, immortal quotes and timeless love story. It's hard to believe but this iconic movie debuted 75 years ago.
So let's take a look at some of the best looks that Ingrid Bergman rocked as Ilsa Lund in this ultimate story.
